Bingo

Bingo is a major source of funds for many organizations at Fountain Valley High School.  The Bingo Board of Directors approves a certain number of positions for the Royal Regiment each year.  Different positions have different point values; quarterly the Bingo Board assigns a dollar value to each point.  We must fill these positions assigned to the Royal Regiment in order to receive the points and thus the funds.  If we do not fill a position, we are penalized as Bingo requires a minimum number of volunteers every Thursday evening.  The Royal Regiment depends on the money earned by the parents who are willing to donate one or more evenings of their time to work Thursday night Bingo.  This money benefits every student in the Royal Regiment. 

The Royal Regiment is primarily assigned Floor workers, which involves selling items to the Bingo players, working with “pull tabs”, Coffee attendees, or occasionally assisting with the Wheel chairs.  Floor worker training is held the third Thursday of every month at 7:00pm.  Other positions which may be available are:  Caller, Head Cashier, Floor Manager.  These positions have greater point values than Floor workers and require Floor worker experience as well as additional training. 

Those who work the late shift are required to assist with the clean up. There are times when scheduled people are unable to work, either for the Royal Regiment or other organizations.  You can be part of the Emergency “ON CALL” group to fill absentee positions, which can earn extra points for the Royal Regiment.  The Royal Regiment “On Call” group can save us a penalty. 

Bingo does not work without parent volunteers/workers!  Please take this commitment seriously.  If you cannot work your assigned shift, call your Bingo representative, noted below, as soon as possible but no less than 24 hours before the start of your shift!!

We are penalized double the amount of money you would have earned if you do not show up.  Please, NEVER be a “NO SHOW”!!

The Royal Regiment cannot operate without the Bingo funds!  Please support the Royal Regiment by working Bingo at least the required three (3) shifts, to satisfy the Bingo Participation requirement, or, if possible, more times per year! 

Bingo “Buy Out”
If you do not wish to work the required Bingo shifts, there is a “buy out” option of $150.00 payable to the Fountain Valley Royal Regiment (FVRR) not later than March 1, 2011.
