Packing Information
PLANNING
Tue Nov 18 Pack for the WBA Championship Tour – Put your name on your sleeping bags, any
Pads or Aerobeds, carry-on, luggage, and cell phone charges.
Wed Nov 19 Boys bring sleeping bags etc to school - load on the semi during Periods 4 or 6
Thurs Nov 20 Attend school (Mandatory) Girls bring sleeping bags etc at 5pm
Thursday - All meet at 5pm by the FVHS stadium lot for luggage & Carry-On Check.
Find your chaperone - they need to see the important items in your carry-on
and luggage…”Luggage Check”
PACKING INFO
CARRY-ON (take on the bus) – Pack Friday’s rehearsal clothes (guard jacket) and sleeping ware, toothbrush, deodorant, and cell phone charger for Thurs night at Madera Valley Inn (soap, shampoo, & hair dryers are the rooms), Gameboys and snacks are fine – Luggage must stay on the bus…only take your carry-on to your room.. Leaders on each bus should bring a few DVDs (PG-13) for the bus. BRING A WARM JACKET…see below in Weather.
LUGGAGE (Put under the bus in the Bays) – One medium size suite case. You will need to pack the following items: Show shirt, two pairs of black socks, any performance uniform items (Guard uniform), four days of clothes for the tour, any items you need. For the Gym showers (Sat & Sun) bring: Towel, Soap, Shampoo, share hair dryers, Bathing Suite for the showers, possible earplugs for sleeping, etc but PACK LIGHT. However, the Thurs & Sunday hotel does provide shampoo, skin lotion, soap, and one hairdryer.. no need for these in Madera. Pools are closed and not heated. No Computers, No TV type games, No open speaker items, No guitars etc. No nerf guns, swords, or other type toys! Do not purchase toys etc on this trip. Use your money for the correct items and food. (Any toy items seen will be taken and sold on Ebay,…as a fund raiser…!)
EXTRA CASH - You do not need cash. However, an extra $30 might be nice for Championship T-Shirt etc, possible movie on Sunday night in Madera.. All meals are provided or we will give you cash when eating on your own.
TRANSPORTATION:
All students will ride the Gold Coast Charter bus up and back during this trip. Parents that travel to Madera may not take your own member home in your car. All students must ride the bus as one united team. However, some families are picking up the member for a continuous family trip up north…that is fine as long as the Director know in advance.
SCHOOL & REGIMENT RULES:
A student will fly home at the parents expense or may not have free time based on breaking rules stated on the signed Conduct Form. (a copy is in the handbook)
MEDICATIONS:
All medications being taken on the trip must be recorded DURING the suitcase check on Thursday.
Please have available the doctor’s name, type of medication and dosage.
ONLY REGIMENT STUDENTS, STAFF, PARENTS, & HELPERS ARE PERMITTED AT THE HOTEL or GYM, AT DVC AND DURING FREE TIME IN MADERA.
WEATHER
Friday Rehearsal in San Jose - Mostly Sunny - 71 during the day / 50 when we leave & during dinner.
Saturday at DVC - Partly Cloudy – 70 during the day / 44 during Prelims Awards
Sunday at DVC – Partly Cloudy – 68 during the day / 47 during Awards
Sunday Night in Madera 11pm – 37 when we arrive and cold Monday Morning
