THANK YOU TIRE PROS!!!

Through private donations a few years ago, the FVHS Royal Regiment acquired a big rig trailer and tractor to transport musical instruments, props and uniforms to competitions, football games and festivals.  During a routine inspection of the trailer, the Huntington Beach High School District Maintenance department discovered many of the tires on the trailer needed replacing and would not allow the band to use the vehicle until new tires were purchased and installed.

With the continued cuts in the state funding for art programs, the responsibility to pay for the operations of the high school band falls upon the parent booster group and outside community support from local businesses.  The booster organization has a limited budget, and there is very little room for hiccups.  Without funds to cover the expense of possibly 6 new tires for the semi, The FVRR faced a serious dilemma. The marching band was scheduled to compete in Northern California in WBA Western Finals and later in the spring, the percussion ensemble was scheduled to compete at the World Competitions in Dayton Ohio.  Without transportation for the equipment and props, the Royal Regiment needed help.

Hearing about this situation, Paul Dickerson, owner of Tire Pros of Fountain Valley, offered not only to replace the worn tires but to also donate tires to the FV Royal Regiment on an as-needed basis.  Tire Pros initially replaced 6 tires on the semi and 4 on the quad. The cost of tires for the semi, had we purchased them, would have been over $3,000!  As Paul indicated, he wanted to contribute in some way to the FV community, but did not have time to go out to find the organization that could use his services. When the FVRR came to him fro help, Paul really went the extra mile to help our FVHS band program.
